If I could make one change to our legislative process, it would be to cap how many pages a bill could be. If I could make two changes, it would be to require that each new law or regulation came with success metrics that would indicate whether it does what it plans to and that failure to meet by a specific time would require reauthorization or revocation.
A basic rule is that if you are going to enjoy a video, song, or book, then make sure that you are paying for the right to do so. There are exemptions with the public domain and advertising-supported media (it is annoying to get ads for on-line betting, which I consider some of the dumbest betting possible)... and by all means, make sure to make contributions to the creators of the material!

Much of the economic activity in America is intellectual property. It is easy to spend more on entertainment (cable TV and internet, lawful downloads, theater admissions) than on a motor vehicle.

But as Richard Nixon said, we are a nation of law and order, are we not?
What do you say when there is no democracy, the borders are closed, you're being wiretapped, the government shuts your business, churches are closed, the elites control the courts, Congress, and the president, everything is illegal, guns are banned, protesting is illegal, the government can extrajudicially assassinate you, there is NDAA indefinite detention, there is civil forfeiture, there is TSA groping, the government can torture you,
trials are cancelled, you must wear a mask, and your wife calls you weak?

H-m-m-m. Unfortunately, that would violate the Iron Rule of sausage making. It's great in concept but impossible in practice.
We'll all be living in caves after everything is outlawed,
but then you can be sure that living in caves will soon be banned in order to protect endangered bats.
