Irwin molested a fish, and the fish retaliated killing him. In short he died for being stupid. Personally I think when stupid people are taken out of circulation it is a net positive for the species. He cornered a creature that ended up defending itself in one of the few ways possible. That is probably how a stingray would defend itself against a seal, a creature that eats rays. Had the sting ray struck him almost anywhere else, then Steve Irwin would have survived. He had a reputation of taking reasonable risks with animals known for danger to humans. There are people who wrestle alligators, animals known to have killed and eaten people. If alligators are in the water, you want to find somewhere else to swim. RE: Importation of inapt life forms as ecological disaster - pbrower2a - 05-30-2016 Now here's a submission I made for a Darwin Award. At least it was of this incident. Quote:The Michigan State Police Department said Tuesday that a man died after rolling his car on the ramp from the Lodge to I-75 was watching pornography while driving. Vehicle collisions and distracted driving don't usually qualify, but this is distracted driving to an unimaginable extreme. The schmuck was old enough to know better, and navigating a freeway-to-freeway interchange requires one's hands on the steering wheel. Besides, it's in Detroit at 3 am. I could be wrong though. There is still an absence of evidence for those. RE: Importation of inapt life forms as ecological disaster - pbrower2a - 05-31-2016 Kinser -- do you know what "ten years without the right of correspondence" means? Dead people do not correspond. If the numbers alluded to occurred there should be corpses littering Russia and the former USSR? Where are these corpses? Even if there were no paper trail (and there isn't) there should be physical evidence...which seems to be missing. What is the most obvious difference in geography between the Soviet Union and Liechtenstein? Hint: 160 km2 (219th) 22,402,200 km² (1st at the time) RE: Importation of inapt life forms as ecological disaster - Kinser79 - 05-31-2016 (05-31-2016, 10:26 AM)pbrower2a Wrote:(05-31-2016, 09:24 AM)Kinser79 Wrote:(05-31-2016, 12:54 AM)pbrower2a Wrote: Kinser -- do you know what "ten years without the right of correspondence" means? Russia is still the largest country. Still there is no physical evidence. And yes the FSB knows where the penal colonies (gulags) are. They are certainly neither vegetarian nor pacifist! --PB Quote:KANCHANABURI, Thailand (Reuters) - Wildlife authorities in Thailand have raided a Buddhist temple where tigers are kept, taking away 40 of the animals by Tuesday and vowing to confiscate scores more in response to global pressure over wildlife trafficking. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/thailand-tiger-temple_us_574d9049e |
