RE: Political Polarity To Reverse On Gun Control, States' Rights? - Bob Butler 54 - 02-04-2017 Well, it seems like the Democrats aren't arming up to fight Trump on the streets. Gun sales are down. It seems that if a Democrat gets elected president, gun sales increase as gun prohibition is anticipated. However, in the aftermath of Trump's election, gun sales slowed. This throws an odd twist into the NRA's policy of backing Republicans, at least if one thinks that economics is at the core of their policy rather than principle. Exactly, this is something liberals just don't understand. Libertarians support the Second Amendment for much the same reasons as many Republicans which is the Constitution and skepticism of government. Given the religious faith liberals and progressives have in government this is incomprehensible. |
