An idea for a social experiment - Finn Bolton - 09-26-2024 Ask people on the street when they think the 'current era' began. Strangely, 2008 does not seem to be an intuitive answer to most; rather, 9/11, Trump or Covid. Why is that? RE: An idea for a social experiment - babygiftcollection - 10-31-2024 Interesting observation! It seems that when we think about the 'current era,' we often anchor it to major events that had a profound impact on daily life and shifted social, political, or economic landscapes. Events like 9/11, the Trump presidency, and Covid stand out because they left immediate and lasting impressions on global culture and personal lives. 2008, while significant for the economy, may feel less intuitive because its effects were more systemic and gradual, impacting certain sectors and regions differently. It’s fascinating to see how collective memory is shaped by the moments that feel most personal or transformative! |
