I saw the most gorgeous motorcycle last night. made me nearly want to go track down a new one of my own. It was a vintage 59 Harley Panhead.

If you have the resources then go for it.  You only live once.

The more I see of what the lupus is going to take from me, the more I think it will happen. Probably a project bike I rebuild up and get going how I want it and just have the escape from time to time of freedom and speed.

That's about the only thing that I have seen you post for some time with which I can agree. Of course it is not about politics.

Having known someone to die of lupus,  I can tell Danilynn that what joy one gets out of life before the lupus overpowers one  is all that one can get. Beyond that, all one has left is whatever solace that friends, loved ones, and faith can offer.   Motorcycles are dangerous, but what do you really have to lose? Enjoy the ride.

PBrower, you are a wet blanket, aren't you. Dannilynn, may you have many more years of active living.

You are right. The only good thing that has happened to me in about five years is that I got a medical diagnosis that absolves me of all my failures in life. Had I known about Asperger's early in adulthood I might have had a normal life instead of being so marginal.

Danilynn,

The thing about physical disease is that we each get our own personal case of whatever we get.  By that I mean that each of us differs, sometimes in small ways, sometimes in huge ways.

Lupus, or in fact most autoimmune problems, can come and go.  You can get years of remission.  A good immunologist is an essential component of your treatment.  Even if your insurance doesn't cover it, an hour of a specialist's time isn't all that expensive.  You can see two, three or more specialists.  Bring your lab test results.  Just talk to them about possibilities.  It can be invaluable just having the information.  It allows you to largely decide on your own how you want your case managed.

Tim: I couldn't agree more.

Relax my friend.  The past is history, the future a mystery.  Today is a gift, and that is why it is called the present.  Make each day your best.  You only really have the NOW!  In that light, life is much more easily changed for the better.

Yeah and people are now worried who will take his place. I said, well hey at least if the next asshole who takes over is worse it may motivate people to scream for revolution. Not a bad thing really. Has to get worse before it gets better. Like a virus.

Given the current debt loads that western governments have it looks they will all have to slim down whether they like it or not.  That is probably why the following SNL skit works.

The fourth turning is where the can kicking stops.  At some level the left knows this but they don't want to face it.

RE: What's going on with you, part II... - Odin - 12-06-2016

Well I swear I heard them saying he was popular. Maybe I just wasn't fully awake yet and they actually said unpopular? Huh

Despite what ideologues like Galen think, NPR's Morning Edition is a very sober show that doesn't make shit up.

You do not have a popular leader when what he does causes both sides to mass against him.

Apparently NPR does make shit up or can't be bothered to figure out what is true.

Well, without having a clip of the segment Odin was listening to you are just speculatively bloviating.

Nx

Especially since, like I said, I was only half-awake when I heard it.

But the debt has created the infrastructure that allows much of the economic activity that exists.  In that it effectively pays for itself.

Who else is getting a passport?

It's #1 on my To Do list for 2017.

The soon as the latest government shutdown attempt is resolved, one way or the other, I will be doing it.

I really believe that scores of millions of people are going to be leaving the country within the next 8 years or so - and the soon as I perceive a trend of people of leaving, I will join it.
