"The X-Files" name-checking "4th Turning" - Increase Mather - 01-21-2018
Did anyone else see Season 11, Episode 01 of "The X-Files" (aired Jan. 3, 2018), where the Cigarette Smoking Man name-checked the Fourth Turning, and made it part of his personal canonical beliefs?
That was the first time I'd ever heard the Strauss & Howe theory mentioned in mainstream popular culture. Not that the creators/directors gave us much understanding of its nuances.
The idea was bound to seep in sooner or later.
