Good. People who drive while distracted are as bad as those who drive while intoxicated. This has been demonstrated scientifically. Furthermore people driving while distracted are a danger to others so this is an appropriate use of state power.

Does anyone get the feeling that anyone supporting the police state now is a paid NSA shill?

Fully agree.  That's two in as many weeks.

Add to this -- drinking and driving. Not just alcoholic beverages -- everything. That is a hand off the wheel, whether to hold a soda, tea, coffee, milk, or water.

We'll all be living in caves after everything is outlawed, but then you can be sure that living in caves will soon be banned in order to protect endangered bats.

How do we ban libertarians who create a new name every time they post?

One wonders if the real purpose of this law is to help the state meet their private prison quotas.

It's more about reducing vehicle crashes.

Really, there are plenty of distractions to driving, such as food, beverages, changing a compact disc or a radio frequency, maps... In Germany it is illegal to drink anything (even water) or eat anything while driving.

There was one fellow in Detroit who took a cloverleaf turn off Interstate 75 too fast, rolled his car, was thrown out of his car through a sunroof and was killed... he was watching pornographic video. As it turns out his pants were down, about which I need say little more. I nominated that for a Darwin Award.

Life is a nightmare now.

You'll be wiretapped if you make a phone call and tracked by license plate readers if you drive.

If you go to a baseball game or Disneyland, you'll need to give your fingerprints, be molested, and be made to carry a microchip.

We're all slaves living in a prison.

Who would want to be born into this world?
