As a parent at the time, Halloween baskets/bags were purged of all items except candy (or similar) in undisturbed and sealed factory wrapping. It was an annual ritual that still holds among many. As kids, we older Boomers often got homemade treats that were far better than the packaged stuff: caramel apples, brownies, and popcorn balls were typical. |
