California has not been a shining beacon during this pandemic, so I take their efforts with more than a few grains of salt.  Closing beaches may actually be counterproductive.  Outdoor activity is a good thing.

What this struggle amounts to is the desire to isolate workers and adjust them to the new requirements of work at home capitalism while minimizing vectors of resistance.
