A Boomer from the younger side described it to me that way. By later standards it was rather tame. Oddly enough, I was exposed to it before I was in grade school since my mother was rather young. You want to see strange then try the movie Tommy from about 1970, not the 1975 version which is in color, that is even weirder. I knew Xers that used to watch that in an altered state of consciousness.
