I think that in one sense fourth turnings are a referendum on Catholicism, which as William F Buckley used to say, is conservatism. I still believe this one ends, like the Glorious Revolution, with both feet in the future. You can't go back to Reaganism. You can't go back to the Restoration. Progressive values, which in this case are Protestant ones, will win. That it all just now turns out what happened 30-some years ago at an elite Catholic school makes it feel all the more prescient.
