In Donald Trump we have about the dodgiest political figure in American life that we have ever had. If he is not a deliberate liar he is often reckless with the truth. That might be good for a used-car salesman or a real-estate huckster, but not for the President of the United States
Two nitpicks.
If he has never served in office, does he qualify as a political figure? I guess. Sorta.
Just about dodgiest? Three words. Richard Milhous Nixon. The 'just about' covers you. Beating out Nixon, though, would require actually getting into office.
In spite of the nitpicks, yah, no problem with the basics of what you're saying.
That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.
