GOP vs. PLO - naf140230 - 07-12-2016 I just saw a news report on CNN. The Republican Party in the USA has rejected the Palestinians completely. How will Mahmoud Abbas react? Or Benjamin Netanyahu? And what about the Palestinian people themselves? RE: GOP vs. PLO - naf140230 - 07-12-2016 (07-12-2016, 07:54 PM)naf140230 Wrote: I just saw a news report on CNN. RE: GOP vs. PLO - Eric the Green - 07-13-2016 Just another reason to "reject" the Republicans. They haven't the slightest concept of peace or justice. The notion is foreign to them. The notion is foreign to them. But they have something they consider more important... the ability to finagle campaign contributions. Bribes? Did someone associate campaign contributions with bribes? You have to admit, though, that they have principles. They never would have abandoned the concepts of peace or justice without proper monetary reward. RE: GOP vs. PLO - Odin - 07-13-2016 The Republican base is full of fundy evangelicals who think that Israelis need to demolish the Dome of The Rock mosque and rebuild the temple before Jesus can come back. RE: GOP vs. PLO - Anthony '58 - 07-18-2016 PLO? In the wake of the Achille Lauro affair, the popular, if sick, joke was that "PLO" stood for "Push Leon (Klinghoffer) Overboard." More seriously, we really have come a long way from arch-liberal Herbert Block, aka "Herblock," and his Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoon showing a stereotypical - and, as I recall vividly, decidedly androgynous - figure representing Israel with his back turned toward the edge of a cliff and an even more stereotypical Arab figure telling him, "Back off first and we'll negotiate later." |
