The Coronavirus
CNN has A Louisiana pastor who defied orders and held services has been arrested

Do they lock him into a jail with lots of Coronavirus positive inmates?
That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.

Clergy do not get free passes for crimes. The offense in this case is an assault.

I did arrange for a pneumonia vaccination. Thursday. I suspect that COVID-19 might do much of its killing through pneumonia as a complication. My encounters with respiratory infections get harder every year.

Not clear at all. That was a hard hit enough area that many are seeing the problem. Seeing things through a materialistic economic perspective only and you miss a lot.

No, governors who do the right thing will not lose elections.

Louisiana was hard hit but cases and deaths are declining relative to other states now. Thanks goodness this red state has a blue governor.

It seems CNN has an article on 'Missouri is suing China over coronavirus impacts'.

The reporter reports Missouri is facing an uphill battle as China has sovereign immunity.  This is likely right.

It would amuse me if a bunch of governors could turn this around and sue Trump for his blowing his response.

Yep, that would be my state.  My governor also announced today he was letting most businesses reopen on May 5.

New Orleans did miss shutting down Mardi Gras. That got it started with all sorts of hot spots following that.

Eleventh Amendment... compels American states to rely upon the federal government for lawsuits against sovereign states.

Yeah,  It's similar to the difference between "you can't not do this" and "you must do this".  There seems to be a bit of wiggle room in the first version that's not there in the second.

Michigan seems set to relax restrictions upon golf and motor-boating. Probably golf itself and not the "19th hole", the bar and restaurant at the end of the golf game.

CNN has an article titled Scaramucci: This seems to be Trump's pandemic strategy

Scaramucci plays the time that Trump can't yell fake science, that "These are objective facts."  Seems to me he does yell fake science on other subjects, and he gets away with it with his base if, say, a subject like global warming don't show immediate and self destructive results to his base.  If their own interest isn't put at immediate risk, the rewards of ignoring science are worth the anguish cause other generations.

I’m not sure.  Anyway, I have an old Rodgers and Harmersetin song from South Pacific that has been running through my head on and off…
