Actually, there was substantial crossover between the Sanders and Trump factions, though the older working class crowd favored Trump more and the younger more educated preferred Sanders. Both Trump and Sanders were change candidates. It's hard to know how that would have played in the General Election, but it certainly couldn't have been worse.
