Reportage is generally straightforward -- so straightforward that the most reliable news source (other than official records that are definitive almost all the time barring a clerical error... as an error on a recording of a death that had a man dying of cancer in female reproductive organs) are the news wires. The requirement of speed precludes any possibility of doctoring the story. Analysis takes time.
