Last year I was talking to some small business people who live in far, far Left Marin. But I could tell they were going to vote for Trump. Now that was a type of protest vote, given their precinct. But it was good data, regarding the Dems' problem.

I think the word progressive is fine, and it resonates pretty well. No-one can expect every word or slogan to resonate and find agreement with everybody. Progressive just means people are interested in progress. Progress just means we deal with what we need to deal with, and can move and get things done and improve things. That is exactly what has not been happening much in America for 40 years (counting now back from the year 2020, as we have recently decided-- in November 2016-- to move further backward until that date, at least; there's just no accounting for American ignorance). Our nation is falling behind others as a result. So, don't "fuck" progressive. Respect it. We need progress on the things that the under-employed/unemployed are concerned about. That's the main thing we need progress on, along with AGW, and everyone knows it.

But, new vocabulary is fine if you have better ideas. However, I doubt your version of violent nationalism is the right language for lots of folks either. But, we speak in the ways that make sense to us, so, we listen, and translate into words that make sense for us; no worries.

X_4AD_84 does have a point.  The more a that people who smell like Democrats / Liberals / Progressives alienate anyone who might get convinced, the more they shoot themselves in the foot.
That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.
