Trump lost the 2020 Presidential election under circumstances similar to those under which he won in 2016. All that seems to have changed was that about 1.6% of the popular vote went from Trump to Biden.

Except that Donald Trump is the worst President in American history, this was about as good an election for the GOP as anyone could have dreamed. Trump lost this election due to his incompetence, cruelty, and corruption. He had a lot of us scared.
You run out of government support then tough. As I mentioned, I actually prefer having the Democrats in power at this point.
