I use the 'view source' mode (bottom right icon in the editing row). Once in that mode, you can use PHP scripts like

and
[/quote]
to add text within the quoted material. To see how it's done, reply to a post with embedded replies and select 'view source'. The entire post will default to plain text and scripts. Just manually do the same for posts you want to edit. It's clunky, but it works.
The point being that this too is too esoteric for most posters. The old forum had it so that you just click "quote" and you could do all that. Is there a way to adjust this forum to that method?
