So many posts on the front page about approval rating polls.
Guys post-Trump approval ratings are really just a reflection of partisanship (given the polarization) and have limited utility in providing efficacy information of any particular event or person.
Also, this far out from elections they are even more meaningless.
I feel like elections train people to monitor numbers and polls, then they just keep doing it after the election even though actual MOVES in the Senate and words spoken are much more important to follow.

Trump is so polarizing that approval ratings for Biden are practically inverses of Trump approvals... of course, approval ratings of Trump are becoming less relevant except as reflections of him. People still look at those of Truman.
The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated Communist but instead the people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists -- Hannah Arendt.

They have utility in the broad strokes of history but as a useful way to understand American politics in January 2021? Nah. Its like asking someone over and over again if they are Rep or D. its become part of the identity and not a temperature check.
