The New Nice - What does that mean?
#1
As I was watching one of Neils splendid talks, I got very fascinated by what he describes as "The New Nice". When it comes to music, this little tune describes it well, I think.

Done by GenXer Aphex Twin, he basically turned his back on his own generation and made this soothing little tune it is. It got everything we Millies want in a tune; contemporary subtlety.

But what else should be included in this "New Nice" doctrine?

I don't know if I can listen to it, since it's on spotify and I have to sign up. But would you say the new nice in music includes hits like "Happy" and "Good Time" (which I like a lot and included at the top of the best songs ever thread)? How about "The Best Day of My Life" by American Authors?

Not as "soothing and little" as Aphex Twin, who is part of the 3T electronica scene.

The new nice may be a trend among millies, but not among older folks apparently, many of who seem to be gravitating toward a presidential candidate who is the opposite of nice.
