Alabama Executes Brandon Samra

Thank you again PBR for demonstrating your lack of understanding of your own country's history.  Or of reality or of much in general.

Consumerism was not a conspiracy by the bourgeoisie to placate the proletariat.  It was an attempt to make even more profit by making goods so plentiful and cheap that everyone could have some.  It was based on profit, and not out of the milk of human kindness (if such a thing even exists).

As for FDR he was a crippled, cousin loving, bigoted, cripple who ignored the Constitution.

Seriously, watch the video.

One of those YouTube wackos I mentioned in another thread.  I listened to one of his once.  I can't put myself through it twice.

Well at least your willful ignorance is honest Mr. Horn.  Which is more than can be said of others here that are willfully ignorant.  And no I'm not speaking of PBR.  I think he actually believes his own asinine talking points--he's just too damn dumb to realize he's on the wrong side of the paradigm shift.

Ferguson (which established segregation as being legal under the 14th amendment).

As for the hard right..whatever PBR says to understand or thinks he understands is lunacy.  The left is so extreme right now in the US that anyone who isn't as left wing as Che Guevara is Adolf Hitler incarnate.  Shit FDR wouldn't even be welcome in the Democrat party these days.  I could go on about how shitty FDR was, but I think I've done that elsewhere and isn't relevant to the topic at hand.
What in your opinion do you think the left is extreme with?

In the US...an easier question to answer is what are they not extreme with.  Which is nothing.

The American Left has gone full retard mode.  The so-called "Green New Deal" called for the dismantling of the entire social infrastructure of the country.  Also apparently at the same time high speed trains across the oceans (which even if possible--would have a very large environmental impact).

They are openly attempting to censor all social media--ultimately this will destroy the likes of twitter, facebook and the like.  Alt-tech is already arising because they are making the environment hostile for people with potentially opposing opinions to discuss the issues of the day.

They are openly advocating socialism as well--which might not be an issue in New Zealand but is in the US (very much so).

And of course they are stirring up racial strife as well.  Exactly like Malcolm warned about.
Can you explain why it would be a horrible decision over in the US?
As for how it is in NZ with socialism I will give one example how it benefits me right now. I have recently had a severe injury to my left ankle. If I were in America and was an American citizen, this would apparently cost me thousands and thousands of dollars to sort out due to rehabilitation, xrays, ultrasounds, MRI scan, just seeing the surgeon and the specialists etc etc as well as hiring out equipment to help me to get around as I cannot walk around much on it. Because of universal healthcare it is paid through taxes which I also pay into and I can focus on getting better rather than stress over a large bill. Universal healthcare is not perfect, but I am lucky that I have it all the same because the last thing I need is to be crippled and stressing over a massive debt. I already have that with student loan.

I wouldn't call having universal basic healthcare for citizens the same as socialism.  Or not as I meant it in my previous post.  They are openly talking about government ownership of the means of production.  The USSR tried that, it didn't work out so well.  The US has a hard time with just welfare state-ism due to our highly diverse population.  If I'm not mistaken New Zealand is predominantly Anglo-Saxon in origin.
Ohh I didn't realize I had missed some posts. I am surprised as it seems that some do not like even the idea of UHC and scream socialism when they hear of it. Ok that would be disturbingly similar to communism by the sounds of it. That is if it is true of course. Yes NZ is predominantly anglo saxon. The city I live in was founded by British settlers. Dunedin was founded by Scots, Akaroa was founded by the French. But majority is Brit founded and part of the commonwealth.

I assume you have a source for this nonsense, but that doesn't make it less idiotic.

Translation: they're on to us, and not letting us lie without limits anymore.

This is actually true, to a limited extent …. very limited at this point.  I don't see anyone advocating for seizing industries, just regulating the hell out of them.

Of course, the White Nationalists aren't race baiting … it's the libtards.  Rolleyes
To both you guys on this, this would tread if I am not mistaken on your first amendment if threatening to ban voices. Could be lies sure, what do I know I am a foreigner. But that is not acceptable if true to cut voices off. That is a fine example of communism at work....for example North Korea. Not saying it would make lefties communists, but it is the start of that and has gone too far. That shit would not slide in my country. I would also say that right wingers would say that left wing funded social media and left wing groups on social media would be living in a bubble also and love to listen to what sounds true to them, but may not be the truth. What if the right wingers wanted to limit your voice? Sorry mateys but that would trample all over your first amendment by the sounds of things. Please correct if I am wrong of course.

As it stands the likes of Twitter and Facebook are trying to claim that they are platforms while exercising the rights of censorship of publishers.  The legal distinction between the two in American Jurisprudence being that a publisher is liable for the ideas expressed and words used by those using their services whereas a platform would not.

A platform would be akin to a public utility.  The electric company can't turn off David Duke's power because they despise his political opinion.

I'm not going to bother more with Mr. Horn.  He's just a bitter leftist who sees his world crumbling in the face of reality.
Quite recently our PM pushed fb to ban certain extreme right wing hate groups who were sharing the video recorded of the shootings here in Christchurch by the white terrorist. After reflecting on it I think it was a terrible mistake because at least if they are there, we can keep an eye on them. I like the thought of giving them free speech. So we know who they are. Silencing people in certain ways, does not make their ideology go away. Kind of like brushing it under the carpet. It is still there.

Did I say that consumerism was anything other than a survival strategy for capitalists -- a means of preventing a proletarian revolution and creating more of a cushion to reduce the severity of the boom-and-bust cycle?

Quote: crackpot stuff about FDR

Franklin and Eleanore were fifth cousins once removed. Where I live, the typical marriage involving the Old Order Amish involves fourth cousins. Cripple? Not enough to compromise his ability to lead a nation at war in the one war that America absolutely had to win. Bigot? Less than average, and he had to make compromises with bigots to get his legislation passed. Ignoring the Constitution? One the Supreme Court said no to him, he abandoned the effort.

I'm not going to hold President Trump's two non-American wives against him. I remember having a real crush on a Chinese and a Korean female.  I will hold his sleazy business deals against him, his sordid sex life, involvement with a porn star, and his mocking of handicapped people and a former prisoner-of-war.
The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated Communist  but instead the people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists -- Hannah Arendt.

I have African American relatives in my family's past who are very much direct lines to me. My great great grandfather for example. I have stated to those people reverse racism is quite real and to be careful who they scream that at because well, cry wolf and all that jazz.

I once told my mother when she went on one of her stupid boomer "hurr da Nazis is everywheres" rants that if she continued to invoke Nazism that real nazis and not just white people she disagrees with will show up.

I think the main reason this hasn't happened is because the number of "based blacks" is growing.

Sounds good.
