Is government the problem, or the solution?

(10-09-2018, 03:48 AM)Eric the Obtuse Wrote: The problem seems to be that the republicans have convinced too many people that government is the problem, which has caused some degree of inadequacy in the government.

I am not a Republican as you should damn well know by now but then you truly are Eric the Obtuse.

I would suggest that you read what Mises had to say about the nature of Bureaucracy.  He had the nature Socialism pegged a century ago and it didn't take him long to figure progressives.

You might spend some time reading what libertarians, particularly Rothbard who created the movement, have to say.  By the way Rothbard didn't really have much use for Ayn Rand.  I had encountered a fair number of Objectivists before reading what Rothbard had to say and he isn't wrong.

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. -- H.L. Mencken

If one rejects laissez faire on account of man's fallibility and moral weakness, one must for the same reason also reject every kind of government action.   -- Ludwig von Mises
