They did much better than the supposedly Marxist revolutions did. The US Revolution and to a lesser extent the French spread the ideas of the Enlightenment to some degree. Human rights. Democracy. Equality. It was not perfect. They wound up with an emperor in France, for example. What are they, up to the Fifth Republic? But they at least advocated some way for the people to check the elites who wound up in government. The so called Marxists? The Party would become the new elite and ignore the people.
Again, revolution without a way for the people to check the elites is a counterproductive idea. I do see the division of wealth as becoming the dominant in a near future turning. It is hardly guaranteed that the autocratic cultures will listen to the people, but will instead try to use their monopoly of violence to keep the people subdued. But in the democratic cultures, qhwew violence is a last resort, it won't go violent in the Information Age.
That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.
