Undoing much of the rot in economic and cultural life will not be easy and it will not happen quickly. The death of formality as a communication style during the awakening has done a lot to erode emotional boundaries and created a world polarized between rude, loud "my voice must be heard!" types yelling over each other on one end, and everyone else on the other end who just keeps their head down, doesn't speak up and doesn't assert themselves. the rise of mass media is going to make this cycle hard to break.
