Interesting that Boomers are now on the other side of the generation gap. But despite this whole new meme, the chasm between them and their mostly GI parents during their youth was much louder than a similar gap today is. But I have often pointed out that in the long run the Boomers ended up becoming most of what they had ridiculed during their youth, becoming even more beholden to corporate muscle even more than their GI fathers had been with the exception of not committing themselves to lifetime employment within their chosen organization. And of course very few Boomer women became the vaunted Suzy Homemaker which was a hallmark of GI women in the immediate postwar years.
