Eating large amounts of sugar has some good point too (lots of potential energy there), but no one thinks it's worth the downside by any stretch of the imagination. That's my biggest gripe with the gun crowd. For example: when someone is trying to limit access to guns for people clearly unsuited to having them, the gun crowd complains that their right to get guns on demand is restricted … like a three or four day wait is gong to kill them.
Proportionality is totally absent.
