My Generation Research (8 year pure cohorts, 10 year spectrums)
#2
I am not convinced that technology drives culture unless giving a new medium (such as photography, cinema, radio, animation, television, computers, or electronic instruments). People largely do what they did before with the old technology... they simply use a new medium.

You use your e-mail much like a telegraph, the difference being that a telegram is an expensive way in which to communicate and that an e-mail is so cheap to send that it is an excellent means of sending bulk messages (spam).

And, yes, this is still someone who should be quite familiar:

... because the fellow was born in 1685, and he still ... rocks!
The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated Communist  but instead the people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists -- Hannah Arendt.
