Bernie is a great man, a great leader; and a great campaign is over.

He did better than almost anyone thought he would, as he says. Except of course, for me.

And Hillary sounds more dynamic than I've seen her!

If he was a Democrat, he would have beat her.

Most Sanders supporters, including my father, are voting for Hillary Clinton in this election.

Nope. He didn't and never would have done well enough with ... as a particular horrid man terms it ... "the blacks."
The Democrats are known to be the ones who insure the government checks are delivered on time with adequate funds available to cover the amount due.  If Bernie was a life long time Democrat and was directly associated with the Democrats, he wouldn't have had a trust barrier to over come with conservative Democrats.

You think that I live on government checks, even though I only recently started getting some social security that I paid for, and that's it. You think black people who vote Democratic and vote for Hillary do it because they want their government checks. What data do you have to show that most blacks get government checks?

Bernie did have a reputation as a "democratic socialist" to overcome.

It doth appear that the internet vote is anti-Hillary. See the comments on the video of Bernie's endorsement too. But the internet is also known as a bastion of libertarians and other fringe groups. Not very representative.

I meant to say above, he did better than almost anyone thought he COULD (according to Bernie).

And I noted, Hillary was more dynamic in this appearance than I've seen her. Maybe Hillary feels like she has some wind at her back with Bernie behind her.

I don't consider you as being a Democrat. Obama was a democratic socialist and that didn't stop him. Bernie was an Independent.

It's true, I am not. My party affiliation is in my name here.

Bernie is a declared democratic socialist; Obama is not. But yes Bernie was an Independent. Some Democrats may have preferred a Democrat. Certainly the superdelegates did. Blacks seemed to prefer Hillary as someone they knew. Not because Democrats pay them though.

Barack Obama is a socialist only to the extent that the editorial staff of American Opinion (rag of the John Birch Society) consider him a socialist. It may be ironic to you, but the current President has done more to privatize publicly-held assets than many "conservative" Presidents. Of course that privatization undid the "receivership socialism" associated with the rescue of failing entities during the worst economic meltdown since 1929-1932. A Marxist would have held tight to that privatization and extended it even further.

Hate socialism? George W. Bush inflicted more socialism by the Marxist-Leninist standard of government ownership and operation of productive capital than any prior American President since Abraham Lincoln ordered the US Army to take over railroads within the liberated zones of the erstwhile Confederate States of America.  That shows how inept a President Dubya was. With respect to privatization of American business, Barack Obama has more in common with Margaret Thatcher. He has also cut out some sleazy sweetheart deals between the federal government and questionable actors.

The problem with Barack Obama as a socialist is, paradoxically, that as a black man he could not get away with much. He has done far less than I wish to alleviate poverty in America. The Right would have accused him of using welfare as a form of patronage to blacks that right-wingers assume is an inherent property of black people (they prefer welfare to work -- pardon the stereotype, but that is commonplace among the Right).
The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated Communist  but instead the people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists -- Hannah Arendt.

Sanders may have lost the primaries, but he did succeed in forcing Clinton to the Left. And despite the whining the vast majority of us Sanders supporting are going to be voting for Clinton, because the alternative is horrifying.

Appearing on "Good Morning America," Bernie Sanders responds to his supporters who feel betrayed by his endorsement of Hillary Clinton.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2...evils.html

GMA host George Stephanopoulos referenced two Facebook posts from disgruntled Sanders supporters: "You broke my heart and betrayed the Left, Sen. Sanders," said one person. "You chose her over us," said another.

"What do you say to your supporters who feel betrayed," Stephanopoulos asked.

"What I say is it is absolutely imperative for the future of this country that Donald Trump not be elected President of the United States," Sanders responded. "At a time when this country has enormous crises, we do not, and can not have a man with Trump's temperament with the nuclear code and running the country."

"So it is about the lesser of two evils?" Stephanopoulos followed up.

"No, it is not about the lesser of two evils," Sanders replied. "If you look at issue by issue, we have Hillary Clinton who wants to significantly raise the minimum wage -- we have millions of workers in this country working on starvation wages. We have Donald Trump who wants to let states have the right to do away with the concept of the minimum wage. People could be working for five bucks an hour."

"We have Hillary Clinton who wants to expand healthcare. Hillary Clinton wants to make public colleges and universities in this country tuition free for all those families in this country making $125,000 or less. Donald Trump wants to end the Affordable Care Act and put 20 million people off of health insurance."

"Trump does not even believe what the entire scientific community is telling us about climate change."

Asked about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's statement that if Trump won she would look into moving to New Zealand, Sanders said he agreed with her.
