Scientism can be used to support almost any political position:
-Yellow scientism of market fundamentalism: "the free market has been proven by science to work" etc.
-Purple scientism started with guys like Carl Sagan and now is widespread within environmentalist movements
-Red scientism of Bolsheviks
-Brown scientism of neoreactionaries focused on human biodiversity, the red pill, etc.

I cannot find a real-life example of theocratic scientism, but Orion's Arm Negentropism shows what it would look like:
