Why does Gen X act like they are the generation most impacted by abortion?
#1
If you look at the abortion statistics, only the very tail end of Gen X has higher abortion rates than those born in the 80s or early 90s. Someone born in the 80s was more likely to be aborted than someone born in the 70s.

Any context for the question? this Gen-X'er doesn't think we're any more or less impacted, but maybe I'm missing something.

I would split Gen X into 2 groups:

The MTV Generation (1964-1972):
*Born after JFK was assassinated, but before the legalization of abortion.
*Started elementary school after the moon landing, but before the banning of lead paint.
*Spent most of their elementary school years after the ratification of the 26th Amendment, but before the 1980 election and John Lennon's assassination
*Started middle school after the end of the Vietnam War, but before all 70's influence fizzled out.
*Started high school after the banning of lead paint, but before glam metal peaked.
*Graduated high school after the launch of MTV, but before the Rodney King incident.

Generation Catalano (1973-1981):
*Born after the legalization of abortion, but turned 18 by the time the Y2K bug was supposed to happen.
*Started elementary school after the banning of lead paint, but before glam metal peaked.
*Spent most of their elementary school years after the 1980 election, but before the Berlin Wall fell.
*Started middle school after all 70's influence fizzled out, but before the 1992 election.
*Started high school after glam metal peaked, but before the release of Windows 95.
*Graduated high school after the Rodney King incident, but before Y2K.

Unless you speak of partial-birth abortion someone aborted never is born, strictly speaking. Aborted fetuses do not appear in demographic counts.

Because they were the first generation hit by it? At that time it was new, when the Millennials arrived, it was already established. For better or for worse.
