I had my daughter relatively late and many of her classmates' parents were early Gen-X (I'm a 1956 cohort). They tended to be stricter, less likely to let their middle-school kids trick-or-treat alone, etc...
That would seem to coincide with Strauss and Howe's theory and prediction.
