House passes bill to expand background checks for gun sales

Quote:The Red's scare/concern me less than the Blues these days. Unlike the Blues, the Reds are constitutionally limited and seem to be able to accept that as being the Law of the Land. On the other hand, the Blues seem to be unable to accept that and seem to be hell bent on changing it and establishing themselves as the Law of Land. You're seem pretty dumb for a so-called college boy aka so called smart person. I say that because you missing obvious signs relating to fascism aka social (socialist) Democrats of the industrial era. Unlike the Reds, the Blues actually have the power and a system in place to change things for the worse and destroy the entire country during the process in my opinion. Dude, if you had broke your finger while punching a bully instead of breaking it in gym class or whatever, you would have gained some respect at the bully's expense. I defeated my first bully in third grade by doing it dad's way. My second in fifth grade with a combination of mom's way and dad's way. The bully couldn't handle the sight of his own blood which ended the fight and his reign. He could handle mine coming out of me but could not handle his coming out of himself. BTW, the third grade bully is one of my better friends today.

Rarely do we have perfect knowledge, but sometimes we must act with it. 95% certainty is often good enough, as it was with the connection between smoking and cancer at one point. Yes, we have anecdotal claims by some that smoking has never caused them any problems or that they actually drive better with a drink "for the road". Anecdotal claims are much deprecated in science because they are worthless.
You fail to understand the difference between such diametric opposites as social democracy and fascism. You are not alone. Commies used to call social democrats "social fascists". Social democracy comes with assumptions that the government is responsible for the welfare of the non-rich. Fascism works only for the rich and powerful in business at the expense of working people and small-scale businesses and farms. We "blues" recog
nize that for a system to survive it must offer something desirable.

Like most fascists you have extreme pessimism about human nature (that except for a return to the "glorious" past we eliminate modernity in favor of something that fit the fascist clique well. That's how the KKK sees race relations: put you-know-what people back into slavery and all will be wonderful. You also have an obsession with physical toughness.
I've known of some of those bullies, and news reports that some of them have been sent to prison for crime ensure that they face the biggest bully of them all: the penal system. Bullies typically find fresh victims after a victim leaves his domain. I can think of some that I knew as a child ending up (without really growing up) as the sorts who get into bar-room brawls.  I admit to some cowardice: I am wary of bars unless I know the bar for something else. The American Legion or Knights of Columbus have nice, safe bars in which good behavior is a reasonable expectation by customers.
At my age I prefer having some respect from my physician. I am physically active; I do not smoke; I drink rarely and little at a time.
The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated Communist  but instead the people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists -- Hannah Arendt.
