Dilbert' Creator's 6 Reasons Why Trump Will "Win In A Landslide" In November

Scott Adams - creator of the infamous Dilbert cartoons - believes Donald Trump will win the presidency in a landslide. Trump's "meticulously plotted domination," as Adams explains to The Washington Post, stems from his running on our emotions and sly appeals to our own human irrationality. as the following six points make clear, Adams views Trump as "a master persuader" who will rhetorically dismantle Clinton’s candidacy next.
Having nothing to lose essentially then increases his chance of winning, because it opens up his field of rhetorical play. “Psychology is the only necessary skill for running for president,” writes Adams, adding: “Trump knows psychology.”
Within that context, here is what Candidate Trump is doing to win campaign hearts and minds, according to Scott Adams:

“Dilbert.” (by Scott Adams / Universal Uclick)
1. Trump knows people are basically irrational.
“If you see voters as rational you’ll be a terrible politician,” Adams writes on his blog. “People are not wired to be rational. Our brains simply evolved to keep us alive. Brains did not evolve to give us truth. Brains merely give us movies in our minds that keeps us sane and motivated. But none of it is rational or true, except maybe sometimes by coincidence.”

2. Knowing that people are irrational, Trump aims to appeal on an emotional level.
“The evidence is that Trump completely ignores reality and rational thinking in favor of emotional appeal,” Adams writes. “Sure, much of what Trump says makes sense to his supporters, but I assure you that is coincidence. Trump says whatever gets him the result he wants. He understands humans as 90-percent irrational and acts accordingly.”
Adams adds: “People vote based on emotion. Period.”
“Dilbert.” (by Scott Adams / Universal Uclick)

3. By running on emotion, facts don’t matter.
“While his opponents are losing sleep trying to memorize the names of foreign leaders – in case someone asks – Trump knows that is a waste of time … ,” Adams writes. “There are plenty of important facts Trump does not know. But the reason he doesn’t know those facts is – in part – because he knows facts don’t matter. They never have and they never will. So he ignores them.
“Right in front of you.”
And stating numbers that might not quite be facts nevertheless can anchor those numbers, and facts, in your mind.

4. If facts don’t matter, you can’t really be “wrong.”
Trump “doesn’t apologize or correct himself. If you are not trained in persuasion, Trump looks stupid, evil, and maybe crazy,” Adams writes. “If you understand persuasion, Trump is pitch-perfect most of the time. He ignores unnecessary rational thought and objective data and incessantly hammers on what matters (emotions).”
“Did Trump’s involvement in the birther thing confuse you?” Adams goes on to ask. “Were you wondering how Trump could believe Obama was not a citizen? The answer is that Trump never believed anything about Obama’s place of birth. The facts were irrelevant, so he ignored them while finding a place in the hearts of conservatives. For later.
“This is later. He plans ahead.”

5. With fewer facts in play, it’s easier to bend reality.
Steve Jobs famously aimed to create “reality distortion fields” to meet his needs and achieve his ends. Trump employs similar techniques, and apparently can be similarly thin-skinned when his “reality” is challenged. “The Master Persuader will warp reality until he gets what he wants,” writes Adams, noting that Trump is “halfway done” already.
(Among the persuasive techniques that Trump uses to help bend reality, Adams says, are repetition of phrases; “thinking past the sale” so the initial part of his premise is stated as a given; and knowing the appeal of the simplest answer, which relates to the concept of Occam’s razor.)
“Dilbert.” (by Scott Adams / Universal Uclick)

6. To bend reality, Trump is a master of identity politics — and identity is the strongest persuader.
“Do you think it is a coincidence that Trump called Megyn Kelly a bimbo and then she got a non-bimbo haircut that is … well, Trumpian?” Adams writes. “It doesn’t look like a coincidence to this trained persuader.”
One way to achieve this is by deploying “linguistic kill shots” that land true, and alter perception through two ways.
“The best Trump linguistic kill shots,” Adams writes,”have the following qualities: 1. Fresh word that is not generally used in politics; 2. Relates to the physicality of the subject (so you are always reminded).”
Writes Adams: “Identity is always the strongest level of persuasion. The only way to beat it is with dirty tricks or a stronger identity play. … [And] Trump is well on his way to owning the identities of American, Alpha Males, and Women Who Like Alpha Males. Clinton is well on her way to owning the identities of angry women, beta males, immigrants, and disenfranchised minorities.
“If this were poker, which hand looks stronger to you for a national election?”

Wow, that is a very intelligent argument by Mr. Adams! I never realized that what Trump was doing actually had such a strategy, if he was going for that at all! I wonder if he can actually beat Clinton in November!

Re: the conviction of Dennis Hastert, former Speaker of the House:

Child molestation used to be seen as a less objectionable crime, and prosecutions for it were difficult. If it was as in the case of Dennis Hastert it would have been "He said/he said".

Murder is usually far easier to prove.

Severity of a money-laundering charge depends upon the circumstances. Concealing assets from creditors of a bankrupt business is not quite in the same as money laundering of drug money or money involved in terrorism.

....Something that we seem to be missing: the grown-ups whom Hastert had molested as teenagers were able to do far less damage to the US than some organization adept at blackmailing Americans with troubles like those of Hastert. He was Speaker of the House, holder of one of the most powerful offices in American politics.

Here is its emblem:

and its infamous office building until the group was formally disbanded in 1991:

It's the KGB. Dennis Hastert was a security risk.

Here's the problem with your analogy...

1.  None of the politicans running were turn around men.  Fiarino or whatever her name literally ran HP into the ground.  So it was Daddy or more of the same.  As for Cruz the man is first a Canadian, he's not eligable, and second a complete greaseball on the levels only surpassed by Shillery.

2.  Perhaps the best way to turn the GOP and the Party around is to burn it to the ground.  The time for patches is likely over and the only solution is to bulldoze the structure and start over.  Something I'm told Daddy has loads of experience in.

3.  The Never Trump crybabies are all going to slowly fall into line.  The only other option is a Shillary Presidency which would be at best 4 more years of nothing being done, and at worst the total destruction of all political freedoms in the name of social justice.

Oddly it is Trump whose not claiming to "going to fight for you".  His promise is to "Fix the trade" and "Build a wall".  Stuff that States, Local Govs and Individuals can't do.
It really is all mathematics.

One would expect Republicans to have ditched this sort of stuff years ago:

Quote:WASHINGTON — Carlos Beruff, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Florida, repeatedly referred to President Barack Obama as an “animal” at a county GOP meeting on Thursday.

Addressing party faithful at a St. John’s County GOP gathering, Beruff accused Obama of destroying America and its military.

“Unfortunately, for seven and a half years this animal we call president, because he’s an animal, OK — seven and a half years, has surgically and with thought and very smart, intelligent manner, destroyed this country and dismantled the military under not one, not two, but three secretary of defenses,” he said. “And they’ve all written books about it.”

“Sooner or later, you’re going to find, this was a plan, he wants us to be just another country. I don’t want to be another country. I want to be the United States of America, the greatest country in the world,” he added, garnering a round of applause.

As a Floridian, let me just say that Beruff doesn't have a prayer.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/...-5340.html

As usual Huff Post finds the most extreme Republican out there, one that doesn't represent even 10% of the Party and claims he's pandering to the base. A base that has been widened by Daddy.

And before you non-florida people get in a tizzy, we'll have house and senate primaries 30 August, also some small local offices too. I plan on voting for the Libertarian candidate for mayor of my town...again.

An idea, or a candidate, is not responsible for the people  who believe in it, or him/her.

And if a white nationalist wants to support a candidate whose immigration plan would be a huge economic booster shot for African-Americans, and whose tax plan would take predominantly "people of color" off the income-tax rolls altogether, then let him!

Trump: Divide et impera is his idea of how to handle ethnic and religious difference in America. Such is for swine, and it usually implodes.

Odd. It is the Regessive Left that I see as calling everything racist, everything sexist, everything homophobic and everything "problematic" (that's the new word of the day with them apparently). So is your argumentation one based on ignorance or projection?

Quite so. I just hope that after Republicans warm up to having a demogogue and race-baiter as their standard bearer, that Democrats warm up to have Hillary Clinton as theirs. She is not corrupt or untrustworthy, as the propaganda against her claims. People need to get behind her and keep the mad dog out of the Big House. I don't want a president who sends everyone he doesn't like to Guantanamo Bay and tortures the families of our enemies. He is a loose cannon and we don't know what we're getting if Americans are fool enough to elect this guy. But then, Americans are fools whenever they vote Republican today.

Crude propaganda piece is crude propaganda. Ever notice how saying something against someone who happens to be Jewish is autmatically assumed to be anti-sematism. Perhaps the same can be said for all your Anti-Milo snark Odin.....

Something to contemplate.

Actually if one wants to limit abortions the best way is to insure that women have the means to care for their children, either through making sure there is near full employment or through major marriage reforms so it isn't a total loss to the man should the woman decide she's "just not happy". Comprehensive sex education wouldn't go amiss either.

Oppose abortion? Then make sure that contraception is readily available. Create a social environment in which people cherish children. Above all, support objective sex education.

The Republican Party now has a Frankenstein monster. If one wants a cause, then it lies in a quest for ideological purity without care for integrity.  The Establishment had some subtlety in its use of code words; the masses have little use for subtlety. The masses want its bigotry raw. A Presidential nominee who speaks of prosecuting his opponent in the general election sets a dangerous example that could well tempt his successors -- whether Democrats or Republicans.

You mean like the near full employment (1.9% jobless rate) we had in 1926 - two years after we essentially cut of all immigration?
