Quote:This week, 109 Nobel laureates signed onto a sharply worded letter to Greenpeace urging the environmental group to rethink its longstanding opposition to genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The writers argue that the anti-GMO campaign is scientifically baseless and potentially harmful to poor people in the developing world.

Joel Achenbach broke the news in the Washington Post, and you can read the full letter here. The signatories include past winners of the Nobel Prize in medicine, chemistry, physics, and economics...

Time to move on and accept GMO's.

Good. I don't really like the current emphasis on GMOs modified for glyphosate resistance, which IMO is just a shameless ploy to get farmers dependent of RoundUp herbicide, but GMOs as a technology in general is very much a net good to the world and the opposition to golden rice is absolute idiocy.

Their time would be better spent supporting Greenpeace against the opponents of climate science.

Both the scientists and Greenpeace ought to support GMO labeling so that informed consumers can make their own choices.
