When the Silent dominated the Senate
#1
Anita Hill hearing in 1991 when the Silent had a peak majority in the Senate (65 out of 100). I wonder how a hearing like this would go now with a Boomer-dominated Senate. I'm guessing a lot less collegial and more openly combative. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc7KSINLF5U

Funny you mentioned it.

I was on a business trip in Asia while it was going on.

I was the youngest in the entourage, the lone Xer. The rest were Boomers.

Suffice it to say, the commentary around me was prefiguring Fox News points of view.

I sensed future darkness.

Mark 13:22 - "For there shall rise false Christs and false prophets, and they shall give signs and wonders, to seduce, if possible, also the chosen."

It will be interesting to see what Congress will be like when Millennials dominate it.

The majority leader is still a silent. When McConnell goes, the filibuster will be eliminated and we'll see true partisanship.

We'll have to wait until at least the mid 2030s for that. As of now, there are only 4 Millennials in Congress.
