Yes, but the relentless centralization of the US through the last century has created more than a few resentments. In short, much of the population does not want to be micromanaged by the Feds. Then there is the little matter of Wall Street constantly getting bailed out. Contrary to the opinions of many here, Libertarians are consistently opposed to this. In the free market there is no such thing as "too big to fail".I am not surprised by your confusion, you come from a much more homogeneous culture.
