But it does worry me as to why the anti PC backlash began. I worry for America's future and how it will influence the rest of us. Oh btw scratch my earlier post to classic xer. You are a libertarian. Not republican. Sorry it is late here and I am very unwell at the moment.

Political Correctness is just a way to shut people up.  Do yourself a favor and read 1984.  You will understand.
Ah so it is abused over there. I got a taste of it when a lady said I was a racist or racist enabler when i was simply doing what i always do....listen to both sides and measure. She did not even know me and immediately called me that. Not even allowed to listen to both sides and that is why I declare America tribal. This is why I have warned Democrats that doing that shit only hurts them. They caused this. I hope they will listen to me now. Probably not. This is why he was not hurt by talking in a way that was not pc. In fact it helped him. No one listens.

Over here, the term "political correctness" implies the abuse.  I can give some examples that I saw over and over.

1.   Any policy criticism of Obama was greeted with accusations of racism.  And it was becoming obvious that a President Clinton would mean any policy criticism of Clinton would be greeted with accusations of sexism.  The scary part is that much of the left here actually believes that:  they think they were being patriotic when criticizing Bush, but they genuinely believed that the only reason anyone could disagree with Obama was racism.

2.  The only government sanctioned racism still around in the U.S. is institutionalized discrimination against whites and Asians in the form of affirmative action.  But if you criticized affirmative action, you'd be accused of racism.  The idea that there could be racism against whites or Asians or any race other than blacks had been removed from the lexicon.

America's future is looking similarly grim.

Get ready for the "Little Green Men" of GRU / Spetsnaz in our streets.

Somebody please wake me up and tell me this is all a nightmare.

You can wake up now.  The nightmare of the Clinton era is about to end.

Thanks Galen.

I voted for Trump. I am proud of my vote. I stand by my vote.

You are so right about compartmentalizing things. I have been doing it for so long, I really don't think about it. I came of age in the first and only Clinton Era, the economy was crap and them setting up NAFTA made it worse. I joined the Navy, because of three things, and only one made the deciding factor. Those things were familial pride in my family history of service dating back to the early 1800s, patriotism, and desperation for a steady job. The desperation won above all else, after all my older brother joined the Marines in 1989, the family legacy of one from every generation was still holding. My desire for patriotism was sated through the volunteer work I was part of through the Eastern Star ladies' groups.

Most of you know I have worked and still occasionally do work in the exotic dance world or stripper if you feel the need. This in actuality goes against everything I would prefer to do. However, the desire to make a living or make extra money to take care of my family overrides any moral objections you or any faction of society can level at me. It goes against my belief system in how I feel God would prefer Christians to live, but again the needs of my family to have food shelter, and clothing and live independent of government "help" or "safety nets" overrides anything else. Because what they give, they can take away and then dictate how you live in other ways in exchange for their help.  Ethics in this means, my time dancing makes sure my family has what it needs.

By take back my country I mean, we take this country back to the constitution and operate it that way and get government out of every facet of our personal lives. And hopefully stop the insanity of the SJWs who apparently need to live in bubble wrap to avoid being "wounded" or offended. Because from what I have seen lately, just wishing someone good morning can damn near be a "trigger" or offensive or racist if you didn't say it fast enough to whatever group member is the du jour of the day protected special snowflake.

But either way. Today may feel dark for some of you, but for a whole lot of us that actually work and get dirty in the blue collar world, it feels like a bright shiny day of hope. Good Morning America, let's put our country back on track.

You seem to be eager to keep your own bubble wrap of religious and geographical correctness. God help anyone who says a bad word about it, or doesn't say things exactly in the right way to you too. But then, logical consistency in speech has no place in Trumpland. Only nonsense. And if it's now OK for you to insult those different from you, then keep fighting and denying that the same thing will happen to you.

You claim the government has been in every facet of your personal life. Such a statement makes no sense at all, but you guys have proved once again that any level of verbal logic does not apply to your beliefs. It is just pure feeling and, as you say, whatever provides for your needs, as best as you can feel or believe about it from your personal limited perspective.

I am pessimistic that a country that operates on pure emotion, selfishness, insult and irrational belief is going to prosper. But good luck with it.
