Let's make fun of Trump, bash him, etc. while we can!
The real first responders are often -- victims themselves, and bystanders.

Yes, they can very well be victims.  On the other hand, folks who find themselves at ground zero of some kind of disaster can often mitigate their difficulties and help others.

Yet, I've seen folks who just stand there, or sit there, waiting for someone to DO something.

Is it easier or harder to protect something that doesn't exist?

Someone trying to protect something non-existent(or even worse, what cannot exist) often does great harm to what does exist.

In Donald Trump we have about the dodgiest political figure in American life that we have ever had. If he is not a deliberate liar he is often reckless with the truth. That might be good for a used-car salesman or a real-estate huckster, but not for the President of the United States

Two nitpicks.

If he has never served in office, does he qualify as a political figure?  I guess.  Sorta.

Just about dodgiest?  Three words.  Richard Milhous Nixon.  The 'just about' covers you.  Beating out Nixon, though, would require actually getting into office.

In spite of the nitpicks, yah, no problem with the basics of what you're saying.

I assume the American people can tell the difference. Here's hoping so.

I must admit: I would be more satisfied with making America "better" than with making it "great again".

Don't count on much support from alumni of the Wharton School of Business, his alma mater:

Donald Trump is constantly reminding people he attended the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. It’s evidence of his “very good brain.”

But nearly 1,400 students and alumni from the Wharton school published an open letter on Friday to let Trump know they in no way support him.

“We, proud students, alumni, and faculty of Wharton, are outraged that an affiliation with our school is being used to legitimize prejudice and intolerance,” the letter states. “Although we do not aim to make any political endorsements with this letter, we do express our unequivocal stance against the xenophobia, sexism, racism, and other forms of bigotry that you have actively and implicitly endorsed in your campaign.”

The letter concludes: “We, the undersigned Wharton students, alumni, and faculty, unequivocally reject the use of your education at Wharton as a platform for promoting prejudice and intolerance. Your discriminatory statements are incompatible with the values that we are taught and we teach at Wharton, and we express our unwavering commitment to an open and inclusive American society.”

Your discriminatory statements are incompatible with the values that we are taught and we teach at Wharton.

Most of the signatories are current students or recent graduates, but a handful of older alums added their names, too.

Trump graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. The mogul usually cites the Wharton school as his alma mater rather than simply saying he went to UPenn. This can be misleading because it suggests he went to the business school to receive his MBA; in fact, Trump only spent two years at Wharton’s undergraduate school after transferring from Fordham University.

What’s more, Trump doesn’t seem to have left much of an impression in college.

Reports from the Chronicle of Higher Education and the Daily Pennsylvanian found that many classmates had never heard of him. There’s no evidence he made the dean’s list or graduated with honors, The Daily Beast reported.

No current employees or faculty in the Wharton school have donated money to Trump’s campaign, Philadelphia Magazine reported last month.

Among current students, the College Republicans club president, a junior in the Wharton school named Jennifer Knesbach, told USA Today College that only a “small minority” of members are sympathetic to his presidential bid.

The UPenn administration has avoided commenting on Trump.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims ― 1.6 billion members of an entire religion ― from entering the U.S.

Nixon although as a working class Quaker from what was then considered The Sticks who was deemed an "outsider," was way better than Drumpf. He was a previous VP and a very good lawyuh .... way, way more qualified for office than Drumpf.

Can anyone image Drumph going to CHI-na?!

Likely the opposite effect that what occurred with Nixon.

Donald Trump is bringing his three-ring circus of hate into Cleveland next week for the Republican Convention. So we’re heading to Cleveland with a few thousand Americans of all stripes to build a wall around Trump. Literally. And we need your help.

We’re working with a bunch of bad-ass partners to create a 15,000 foot-long wall! Our wall will be made of fabric and stenciled and painted by artists (and kids!) to look like a real wall. Our wall won’t divide cultures and families; our wall brings us together and speaks truth to power.

Some sections of our wall will be held by courageous front-line activists to peacefully blockade Trump’s convention. Thousands of Americans will march through Cleveland with sections of our wall before attaching it to the 15,000 foot-long security fence that Cleveland is building to protect Trump from the voice of the people.

Check out our #WallOffTrump Indiegogo page and chip-in to make it happen.

The world media spotlight will be on Cleveland, and the drama of our wall of protest will be too good to ignore. We'll make sure reports on the convention include the fact that Trump is surrounded by people determined to contain his hateful democracy-killing campaign. People around the country will be inspired to join the opposition.

Trump’s vision for our country is as small as his hands. His campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” is racist code for ‘Make America Hate Again,’ and he promises that if elected, he’ll build a wall between the US and Mexico. If he even comes close to winning this election, he will inspire a thousand racist copycat politicians.

This is an all-hands-on-deck moment, America! So we’re partnering with Mijente, the Ruckus Society, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Working Families Party, SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice), and others to build our very own wall around Trump to keep his politics, his hair, and his rampant racism quarantined.

All across the wall, individuals, communities, and social movements will be adding their own messages. Help us out and we’ll add your message to #WallOffTrump!

We need materials, supplies, paint, and a ton of fabric (15,000 feet) to make this epic wall. Our wall is $2 per foot to create, a bargain considering it will become one of the largest pieces of political art ever!
Our friends in Mexico are already chipping in to pay for it! Will you please join them? We need 15,000 feet of wall to #WallOffTrump. How many feet can you contribute?

Sincerely,
John Sellers

PS If you'd like to join us in Cleveland (or know of an allied organization that's going) check out our action website, WallOffTrump.US and sign up to help us build the wall!!

I'm about 200 miles away from Cleveland.

Maybe I can create an image of Abraham Lincoln with the words

GIVE ME BACK MY PARTY!

Add Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower as well. Gerald Ford, perhaps?

Good collection of things there, brower. Here is Stephen Colbert serving Bill Maher A Steaming Bowl Of Trump. Stephen follows through on a promise he made to Bill Maher way back when the idea of a Trump presidency was still a laughing matter.

With Pence on board, Trump has issued a new campaign logo -

[img][Image: trump%20pence_zpsrsuw2jts.png][/img]

Does it suggest what Pence had to do to get the 'nod' that Christie and Gingrich would not?

Hard to believe those two wouldn't.

So maybe it has something to do with 'circling the bowl?'

But at last, some clever people over at Kos fixed it so it would be more clear -
